In Hogwarts Legacy, those sorted into Ravenclaw house tend to exemplify the nerdy, but friendly archetype. Gryffindor tends to have the most daring, brave, and chivalrous individuals. Some of the most iconic characters of the Harry Potter franchise belong to this house, including Harry Potter himself. While it is not entirely official, the Sorting Hat likely picks a House for students based on their qualities; however, it is not 100% accurate. Every new student of Hogwarts will have to meet the Sorting Hat at the beginning of the school year during the Sorting Ceremony, which will go student by student, deciding which house is best for each of them.

Students within this house had to know how to apply their knowledge, coming up with unique solutions that others may have missed when they initially viewed an issue. For many Hogwarts Legacy players, the Gryffindor house might be their go-to choice as it was the leading house featured in other pieces of Hogwarts-related lore. Finally, the most major change that comes with your choice of house is regarding a single quest. Without spoiling anything, one quest in Hogwarts Legacy will change depending on which house you are part of.

If you want to wear clothes of a specific color, such as red, blue, yellow, or green, take that into consideration when choosing a house. These common rooms also hold a special house chest that you need to collect all the Daedalian Keys to unlock. Once you do, you will get a unique house robe representing that specific house. Again taking a cue from the source material, Hogwarts Legacy‘s houses each have their own unique common room.
Hogwarts Legacy - Which House To Pick And What The Differences Are
Each one is aesthetically distinct from the others, and you are only allowed in yours. Here’s how your time in Hogwarts will vary depending on which house you join. Any new student’s journey at Hogwarts hinges on which of the four houses the Sorting Hat will place them in. Just like the books, Hogwarts Legacy includes Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Unlike the books, though, you aren’t bound to joining the house that the sorting Hat suggests to you when you first arrive.

The epitome of companionship is perfectly represented in this house as friendship is deeply valued here. For the most part, your House choice has very little impact on your overall Hogwarts Legacy adventure. With some exceptions that we’ll get to in a bit, it’s best to think of your House choice as an expanded cosmetic.
However, as mentioned above, this choice is also pretty inconsequential, as players will be able to override the hat’s suggestion if they want to. The Hufflepuff house in Hogwarts Legacy is another choice you can make for your character. Only a handful of characters in other Hogwarts-related lore came from this house and showed up far less regularly. Characters joining the Hufflepuffs are considered dedicated to their work and loyal to others. They view themselves as hard workers, capable of putting their noses to the grindstone to see the results and achieve victory over others. Their symbol for the Hufflepuffs is a Badger, and house colors were wheat gold and jet black.
One of the most interesting aspects of this magical universe is its house system, which are tight-knit communities for distinct types of students at Hogwarts. Even if you have only a little knowledge of Harry Potter, you have probably heard of the famous House of Gryffindor, which is only one of the four in Hogwarts. You will only be able to enter the dormitory of the House you're sorted at.
Of course, that choice has already caused some early players to panic over which is the “best” House in the game. Note that the House you choose to be sorted into during the Sorting Hat Ceremony is permanent. You will need to restart the main story or create a different character if you want to play through the game in a different House.
Events, Quests, and other Content Exclusive to Each House
As you would expect from a witch or wizard still going through school in Hogwarts Legacy, your created character still has a lot to learn in the wizarding world. Thankfully you don't have to go to class in order to expand your arsenal of magical abilities thanks to the Talent system. Talents may as well just be called skills since they function just like skills do in any other RPG. While you’re completely free to mingle with students from all houses, there are a few unique interactions that will only happen with students with whom you share a house. Other NPCs will also make passing remarks based on which house you’re in — again a fun little touch — but not in any way that excludes you from interacting with them. That’s all you need to know about the differences between the Hogwarts Legacy houses.
The House system in the Harry Potter universe defines communities within Hogwarts that accommodate students who compete throughout the school year, earning points until the end of the school cycle. We do love Universal Orlando's Harry Potter experiences, but also love the convenience of heading to nearby SoCal to check out the Universal Studios Hollywood version. Early on in Hogwarts Legacy after a blockbuster intro, you will be taken to Hogwarts and sorted into a house as a fifth year, a rarity. For Gryffindor, the students are usually strong-willed, brave, courageous, and take on leadership. For Ravenclaw, the students are often intelligent, witty, curious, and academic.

Well, for what it’s worth, I will say that Gryffindor and Hufflepuff probably have the most interesting unique quests (their common rooms are also fantastic). The Slytherin quest is also pretty fun, and the Ravenclaw quest is sadly not as memorable. That’s about as minor as such differences get, but the game really does seem to be more interested in ensuring a relatively equal experience for all.
The eagle will close its wings before opening the door for its students. The majesty and beauty of the Ravenclaw House common areas are unparalleled in Hogwarts Legacy. You will instantly love the blue and gold colors surrounding the gorgeous tower of this fantastic house. While not as impressive as the next two houses on this list, Hufflepuff’s entrance is still charming on its way. The entrance is a detailed wine barrel that will open as soon as a Hufflepuff student walks nearby. Joining Gryffindor House in Hogwarts Legacy offers the quest of “The Hunt for the Missing Pages,” wherein you can meet some unique characters.

Sometimes it can be about wanting to be with friends or like-minded people. Many students who join the Hufflepuffs are also known to have an aptitude for Herbology, the study of magical and mundane plants from the series. The extensive knowledge surrounding Herbology reflects the hardworking behavior of students in this house. Taking care of plants and having them grow is a difficult endeavor and not for everyone. Many characters selected to join this house also have a solid moral code, dictating their personality and drive for their academics. Your house will not affect your relationships, gameplay, or overall story. If the limitations above don’t bother you, feel free to choose any house.

I think that tied Hufflepuf and Slytherin are the 2 best houses in the game, the ones with the best companions and quests. Then you have Ravenclaw which has nothing, in my opinion the worst common room, no companion or anything. It’s not easy being a member of the Gryffindor house, but it’s a decision you make, not one that is decided for you.
